The Story: In Jumanji: The Next Level, the gang is back but the game has changed. As they return to rescue one of their own, the players will have to brave parts unknown from arid deserts to snowy mountains, to escape the world’s most dangerous game.
Winter’s Review: The first movie of the Jumanji franchise was so reminiscent of my Gamer Series that it instantly became a family favorite. Naturally, of course, when I found out about Jumanji: The Next Level, I put it on the top of my must-review list and I’m here to tell you that it did not disappoint! In fair warning, though, there is a bit of a readjustment period, because while the players do return to Jumanji, it’s a completely different game now, and the rules are also completely different—along with some of the players—so be prepared! The changes, however, are all for the best, and as the story unfolds with its signature humor and suspense there are also lots of fun (and sometimes sentimental) surprises along the way. So I say go and see it, folks, because it’s not only a fun family flick, but there’s also a cool teaser and cameo at the end that suggests we’ll be seeing more of the Jumanji gang in the near future!
